Welcome to the Witt & Play changelog. This is where we’ll post weekly updates on what’s new across the platform. This first entry covers what’s available today as we open the doors.
New features
- Verified neighbor identity. Every member completes a five-step trust check — legal name, date of birth, phone OTP, GPS-confirmed home address, and display name — before they can host or join. The TrustBadge in the navigation header shows your progress. See Identity verification.
- Browse local games. The game feed filters by your sport preferences and home location, so you only see sessions you can actually get to. Set your filters on the Welcome page or your profile. See Browse games and Set preferences.
- Host one-time or recurring sessions. Create a single game or a full series in one flow, with customizable capacity, location, and join settings. See Create a game and Recurring games.
- Private games with join codes. Generate a 6-digit code or shareable link to invite a closed group. See Private games.
- Saved locations. Reuse your home, regular park, or club address across games without retyping. Edits flow to future sessions; past games keep their original address. See Saved locations.
- Host console. A dedicated dashboard to approve join requests, manage the waitlist with automatic spot promotion, set teams, and record scores. See Host console and Manage players.
- In-app messaging. A unified inbox for game chat threads between hosts and approved players. See Messaging.
- Calendar export. Approved sessions sync to your personal calendar. See Calendar.
- Host ratings. Rate your host after each game to help the community surface reliable organizers. See Host ratings.
Updates
- Restricted accounts under 18. Accounts whose verified date of birth indicates under-18 are flagged as restricted and cannot host or join. See the FAQ for how to correct a wrong date of birth.
- 30-day GPS lock. Once you GPS-verify your home address, it’s locked for 30 days to prevent address hopping.
